COLORED HAIR CIR.

colored hair- hair that has been chemically processed using dye to alter its natural color.

To dye or not to dye hair? This is a question that lingers amongst the natural hair community on a grand scale. From vibrant violet, lime green, hot pink & every other color in the spectrum, a colored crown catches the eye of many. Let's be honest, your crown has a texture from the God's on top of a unique color creating a recipe of CROWN GALORE! However, can coloring your hair go left before it goes right?

YES, yes & more yes! However, in order for something to go left it all depends on how right your routine was before & after coloring hair. Here is a personal story from the owner sharing her experience with dying her hair for several years.

PROS:

NEW LOOK, MOOD BOOSTER, DISPLAYS SELF EXPRESSION, ENHANCES GLOW, PROMOTES SMOOTHNESS.

CONS:

OVERUSE OF DYE CAN CAUSE HAIR TO DRY OUT & BREAK OFF IF CARED FOR IMPROPERLY, PERMANENT DYE IS HARSHER THAN SEMI-PERMANENT DYE, UPKEEP INCREASES, POSSIBLE ALLERGIC REACTIONS.

"I've been getting color applications since my perm days. Yes yall heard me right, PERM DAYS! It was something about getting a fresh color that made me felt like a new woman. I felt like I was bound to newer & colorful heights just by changing the color of my hair. Basically, it was and still is a mood booster for me! Although it had its PROS, I still had to be cautious of the CONS that came with it.

Of course, I enjoyed the new look! Yet, after years of coloring, especially in my perm days, I noticed my ends would split more frequently, length reversed, dryness & breakage increased etc. So once I decided to do the BIG CHOP, I knew that I had more freedom to color my hair because my natural texture was much stronger. However, I just had to make it my responsibility to co-wash weekly, shampoo less, use cool water more than warm, avoid heat & less manipulation styles. Since then, I can color my hair with no worries because I KNOW MY HAIR!"
